The latest Autocom software version can communicate with the new Volvo models from 2016: XC60, XC90, S90 and V90 which are equipped with the Diagnostic Communication over Internet Protocol (DoIP). The cable can also be used for various Jaguars and Land Rovers.
Vehicles are increasingly equipped with electronic driver assistance systems that communicate with each other and©the outside world. Due to the large amount of data, the data generated by these systems can no longer be transported via the traditional CAN bus.
For this reason, a new data transport protocol has been developed: DoIP. In-vehicle data communication via DoIP is many times faster than traditional CAN data transfer. More and more car manufacturers are adopting DoIP as a communication standard. The latest version of the Autocom software, 2018.00 can communicate via DoIP.
Focus on service
Initially, DoIP protocols were developed to diagnose:
- Gasoline engines
- Diesel engines
- Instrument panel (Service interval reset)
- Electric parking brake (Switching on and off service mode)
In order to communicate with these vehicles, a special adapter cable is required.
