What is SFD?
Vehicle Diagnostic Protection (also known as SFD — Schutz Fahrzeug Diagnose) is an additional layer of security that requires authorization between the vehicle and the manufacturer. It can help protect against any form of fraud by providing information about who made modifications and when. This protection applies to models manufactured from 2020 onwards with the MQB Evo platform (VW Golf 8, Škoda Octavia IV, Seat Leon IV, Audi A3 8Y, Q4, etc.) and the MEB (VW ID.3, ID.4, Škoda Enyaq, etc.), by limiting or blocking modifications, coding and parameterization.
ECUs protected by SFD are: motor electronics, central electronics, instrument cluster, gateway electronics, multimedia unit, etc.

Suitable for the following car brands:
- group: Audi, Cupra, Seat, Skoda, and Volkswagen from 1992 + Bentley and Lamborghini from 2011, using the OBDeleven App
- BMW group: BMW, Mini and Rolls Royce from 2010, using the OBDeleven Diagnosis App
- All other brands only engine management and automatic transmission via EOBD, using the OBDeleven App
